Arbesko means quality
- and is based on over 160 years of traditionThe words ”Arbesko – Makes a difference” have made a real impression and are being understood by an increasing number of skilled workers across Europe. More and more users of safety and occupational shoes are discovering that the way Arbesko constructs its shoes - the quality we offer - differs clearly from other manufacturers. The fundamental quality of our shoes not only ensures safety and protection on the job, it also helps you reach the end of the day feeling more refreshed.
High quality often stems from long tradition, from knowledge passed down by skilled, knowledgeable craftsmen.
Family company Arbesko hails all the way back to 1839 when forward-looking cobbler Anders Andersson in the village of Hörsta in Kumla, central Sweden, began manufacturing shoes in bulk rather that made-to-measure.
In the late 19th century, his son A.G. Andersson founded one of the first shoe factories in Kumla, the seed of a trend that would later see the Kumla/Örebro district becoming known as the "shoe centre" of Sweden.
And so began an almost unique family-based continuity in the history of Swedish shoemaking. The proud craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit have constantly been refined and passed down through the generations, to what is today known as Arbesko.
Arbesko AB is still a Swedish family company. The current Managing Director, Peter Geisler, is a fifth-generation shoe entrepreneur. The tradition, the knowledge of shoes and the visionary thinking have made us one of the most prominent manufacturers of safety and occupational footwear in Europe. We are a leader in Scandinavia, and Arbesko is highly respected in many other European markets..
